Optional. Everything works in a browser — these add alerts that reach you when nothing is open.
You may not need any of this
Crypto Alerts runs in the browser at alerts.volametric.com — nothing to install, on any device. Alerts are evaluated on the server around the clock whether or not you have it open, and reach you through your own Telegram bot regardless.
Install an app only if you want one of the two things below.
macOS
An alert window that appears above fullscreen apps — above the menu bar, the Dock, and whatever you are working in. The connection lives in the app itself, so alerts arrive with the window closed.
Apple silicon. macOS 11 and later.
macOS will warn you the first time — here is why, and what to do
The app is not signed with an Apple developer certificate, so on first launch macOS says it “cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified”. That message means Apple has not been paid to vouch for it, not that anything is wrong with the file. Verify the checksum above if you want proof it arrived intact.
- Open the
.dmgand drag Crypto Alerts into Applications. - In Applications, right-click the app and choose Open. Double-clicking will not offer the choice — the right-click menu is the part that matters.
- Press Open in the dialog. Once only; afterwards it starts normally.
On Sequoia and later the dialog may not offer Open at all. Then: System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to Security, and press Open Anyway beside the app's name.
Android
System notifications that appear as banners over whatever is on screen, with sound. A browser cannot do this: web notifications are pinned to normal importance and can only reach the shade.
Android 8 and later. Not on Google Play — install directly.
Android will warn you too — here is what it means
The file is not from Google Play, so Android asks permission to install it. The app is signed with our own key, which is what lets later versions install over this one.
- Download the
.apkon the phone itself. - Open it from the notification or from Downloads.
- Android offers to allow installs from that app — allow it, then press Install.
- Open the app and paste your licence key.
Let it run in the background when asked. Battery optimisation can otherwise cut the connection overnight, which is the one failure an alerts app must not have.
After installing
- Paste your licence key. The same key works on three devices at once.
- Connect your Telegram bot in Settings if you have not already — a minute, step by step.
- Your alerts are already there: they live on the server, not on the device.

Verifying what you downloaded
Each build shows a SHA-256 above. To check a file matches:
shasum -a 256 ~/Downloads/CryptoAlerts-*.dmg
On Windows: certutil -hashfile FILE SHA256.
The digests are computed on the server from the files being served.
